Born in Rome but half-French, Michel is a young, rising fashion designer. Born in 1989, in 2008 started studying at the Istituto Europeo di Design. Fascinated by imagination and experiments, features that he develops and internalises, he creates unique garments, using ancient sartorial techniques with a modern twist. His passion was passed on by his grandmother, a French woman of yesteryear with a taste for art and creativity, who left him an entire archive of splendid dresses and jewels. Michel is a fashion designer who makes contemporary models, perfect for the modern woman, but with old-time passion and working style.
A contemporary artisan, who cares about Made in Italy, handmade and made-to-measure creations.
His jumpers are soft and sensual. The textiles sometimes allow more intimate views, without never fully revealing all, leaving room for the imagination in those desiring or just simply looking. Michel is a young man to be in charge of the firm he is running, but age means nothing. When he speaks he has the politeness of a distinguished gentleman of times gone by, a dandy, the perfect heir of his French grandmother, that has glided into modern times directly from the Belle époque, the happy years before the Horror…
Is this Michel’s intention? Preserving the woman’s body from any vulgarity or ugliness? I don’t know, maybe that is not the case, but it is what comes to mind looking at the close weave of his jumpers. And anyone who preserves beauty always deserves the honour of the Gods.
