La Grande Officina Gioielli
There is a place in the heart of the San Lorenzo district where two people create rings, necklaces, earrings, brooches and jewels. La Grande Officina was born in 1994, when Daniela Ronchetti and Giancarlo Genco decided to create their own space where they could melt and mix powders and metals to make jewels that are authentic works of art.
The two artisans met and knew each other in a historic laboratory in via Margutta where nowadays they experiment and make ancient and modern jewelry techniques. Their great passion, combined with the great skills of the two, push them to create more and more collaborations with artists and architects.
It is from here that the dream of a real goldsmith craft workshop was born. A place for sharing, designing, creating and exchanging ideas. A laboratory where stones and metals are modeled to give life to every single jewel, unique pieces that contain passion for the goldsmith's art combined with great professionalism.
The name La Grande Officina brings to mind the previous activity that occupied the space (an engineering workshop), but also the most romantic concept of the 1500s, when the artisan shops in Italy were flourishing.
In this space, jewelry making is entirely handcrafted, directly on the metal with the banquet technique. The processed materials are gold, silver, bronze passing through wood, steel, plastic materials and resins. The inspiration comes from nature, especially from the sea, without disdaining the integrated mechanisms, microchips and ball bearings to be incorporated into the creations.
