Rome Video Game Lab | The history of the video game and the latest news

Rome Video Game Lab is an event dedicated to the world of video games: workshops, meetings, game stations. The history of the video game and the latest news can be enjoyed from 10 to 12 May 2019 in the mother place of the history of cinema, to indicate a connection between the past, the present and the future of entertainment that passes through the audiovisual world: the Cinecittà Studios in Rome.

In a framework in which Istituto Luce-Cinecittà wants to play a central role in the innovation of the audiovisual market, the will to incentivize companies and employment in a sector, such as videogames, is born, as a definitive statement in the creative industry .

Hence the great project of hosting the Rome Video Game Lab for the second time inside the Cinecittà Studios, thus opening the doors of the Italian Cinema house to the new languages, stories and imaginaries of video games. Three days totally immersive between games, culture, meetings at the highest levels in the sector, cinema and interactions, in full compliance with our history and mission, which recognizes the identity between spectators and citizens of the future, and literacy to the audiovisual language (including video games) as a key to understanding society.

And from this same vision was born Cinecittà Game Hub, a physical and operational space of 1000 square meters located inside Cinecittà, which will open its doors in September 2018. A first fundamental concrete step in the interaction between cinema and video games, a dialogue in which Italian cinema cannot lag behind compared to other European partners.

The Videogame Hub will host all the activities supporting the sector chain: a training school, an information, consultancy and guidance desk, the activation of a co-working service for research and development on videogame start-ups ; a training / educational offer for schools. And much more to discover.

With RomeVideoGameLab, the Cinecittà Hub, and new projects dedicated to video games, Luce-Cinecittà launches a design and physical experience of research on new narratives. Opening up to the videogame community, its professionals and enthusiasts. From today the Dream Factory is open to them too.
