Mug is the chance to see recent and little distributed movies in Italian theatres. The Bertolt Brecht Theater of Formia hosts the beautiful and original film festival of the Riviera of Ulysses. All supported by a warm and "welcoming" infusion. We strongly advise against absence ...
The event gives us an appointment on February 3, 2019 with the screening of the documentary "Essere Gigione" by Valerio Vestoso, with the participation of the director in collaboration with Lokomotiv Musik.
The protagonist is Luigi Ciaravola, known to his affectionate public as Gigione. The documentary tells some moments of public and private life showing the performances of one of the main protagonists of the festivals in the provincial square and behind the scenes of the life of a showman between the sacred and the profane. Maurizio Costanzo hosted him at the Maurizio Costanzo Show.
Valerio Vestoso, on his first feature film, focuses his attention on him, recording an interesting documentary which goes beyond the exaltation of the character but portraits an Italy that is often seen with arrogance, consequently failing to understand expectations and impulses.
This edition of MUG will end on 10 February 2019 with the screening of "20th Century Women", which has been presented at the New York Fil Festival. During the summer of 1979, a Santa Barbara single mom tries to grow her teenage son Jamie in the best way, educating him to love and freedom. The woman asks the help of two young women, the artist Abbie and the neighboring rebel Julie. In the cast we find, among others, Annette Bening, Elle Fanning and Greta Gerwing.
