La Ville Ouverte
With the arrival of spring, the La Serpara garden opens its doors on Sunday, March 24th with an event that opens the season of initiatives promoted by the association that works to enhance the garden. A new opportunity to learn about Paul Wiedmer's sculpture garden, which has opened its doors to the public since 1997 and is enriched every year with new works. A reality that now has more than sixty works by artists from different countries of the world in a valley where art and botany coexist in harmony. After the guided tour the presentation of the book La ville ouverte. Politics and poetics of the Mediterranean public space by Marco Trulli, published by Viaindustriae publishing.
The book is a focus on some art practices in the public space that cross the Mediterranean and that were the result of exhibitions, workshops and residences within the La Ville Ouverte action program, a platform promoted by Arci Nazionale within the network of BJCEM - Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean. The book draws a geography of the Mediterranean art scene that questions the relationship between the forms of poetry and politics, developing community projects, participatory actions, performances and interventions that act on and in public space. A continuous process of deconstruction of reality as a strategy for interrogating the traumas of the landscape, of sensitive maps drawn from the exercise of power throughout the Mediterranean. The book also contains an appendix with a series of imaginary projects by different artists and authors who have participated in the latest editions of Mediterranea. Young Artists Biennale.
The event is an opportunity to join the La Serpara Cultural Association by renewing the Arci card.
