Art meets dreams
Dream | Art meets dreams
With open or closed eyes, by night or by day, in the drawer or made, at the Chiostro del Bramante dreams meet great contemporary art. Magic, utopia, essence, enchantment and desires take shape in the exhibition Dream. Art meets dreams in an engaging and evocative exhibition path that will allow the public to escape from reality and get in touch with the unconscious and the oneiric.
Dream, meaning of exploration, knowledge and emotion, but also an expression of the deepest part of the human being, is the key to understanding the "vast and profound territories of the soul", as stated by the curator of the exhibition Danilo Eccher.
In the perfect Renaissance architecture of Donato Bramante, the dream becomes an element of reflection and revelation through the poetic languages of the greatest exponents of contemporary art, protagonists of the exhibition Dream. Art meets dreams.
Extraordinary works of art alternate site-specific works redesigned for the spaces of the museum and multipurpose complex located in the heart of the capital, in a succession that becomes a single great story, thanks to the involvement of well-known artists, such as Bill Viola, Anish Kapoor, Luigi Ontani, Mario Merz, James Turrell, Anselm Kiefer.
Dreams guide viewers through a series of stages and steps, stops and re-starts: from confrontation with nature to identification in forms, from the evocation of personal and collective memories to the passage of time, from the sublimation of shadows to immersion total in light.
"DREAM. Art meets dreams "completes the trilogy, conceived and curated by Danilo Eccher for the Chiostro del Bramante, begun with" LOVE. Art meets love "(2016) and continued with" ENJOY. Art meets fun "(2017).
Three major exhibitions dedicated to contemporary art and its languages, able to express different states of the soul, such as the complexity of feelings related to feelings, the exaltations of the most joyful emotions and the deepest perceptions belonging to the oneiric.
From 29 September 2018 to 5 May 2019 the Chiostro del Bramante invites the public to live an experience without equal, in a place in constant evolution, where learning and analysis are the tools to dialogue with art, starting from the comparison with itself.
