ROMICS XXI edition | The festival devoted to comics

Cartoonists and illustrators get ready: Romics is coming back! The largest exhibition devoted to comics and cosplaying is preparing to turn off the twenty-first candle. The Comics Festival will be held from April 6th to April 9th, in Fiera di Roma. As usual the exhibition will offer a rich program of events, with special guests who will enliven the festival. Eyes on the world of comics, of course, but there is also room for movies, games and entertainment. Great special guest of this edition is Yoshiyuki Tomino, the father of Gundam, which will be awarded with the Romics d’Oro.

To be rewarded with the same recognition are also: Sharon Calahan, photography director of Pixar; Giuseppe "Cammo" Camuncoli, the “pencil” who created sagas published also in the US; Matteo Casali, screenwriter sought after the major international publishers; Igort, one of the greatest masters of comics and international illustration. Among the unmissable dates of Romics, there are even the 75 years of Wonder Woman -  honoured with a special exhibit - and the celebration of 60 years of Cocco Bill, the famous gunslinger by Benito Jacovitti. It will be also paid tribute to Carlo Rambaldi, with an exhibition that traces the ideational and creative periods of his beloved creatures, including E. T.

Regione Lazio at Romics

Regione Lazio has decided to take part in Romics with its own stand also during this edition, by putting the spotlights on the world of youth and presenting many services created to enhance creativity in Lazio. At the stand you can ask for information about regional calls for young entrepreneurs, startups and creative industries, on training programs and Youth Guarantee. With the aim of launching the Roman cartoonists and illustrators in Italy and abroad, the volume “Le eccellenze creative del fumetto e dell'illustrazione di Roma e del Lazio 2017” will be presented. There will be also the presentation of the book collecting the winners of the contest to create comic strips to say no to violence against women; the participants are the students of high schools of Lazio.
