The competition for the "Andrea Parodi Award", the only Italian world music competition organized by the Foundation with the artistic direction of Elena Ledda, is open to artists from all over the world. The finals, this year, are scheduled from 8 to 10 November in Cagliari at the Teatro Auditorium Comunale. The purpose of the Award, now in its eleventh edition, is to enhance the new trends in the music of peoples or "world music", that is, artists who mix the so-called folk or ethnic music with sounds and stylistic models of different origins.
To participate in the announcement, the contestants must send the material containing, 2 tracks (2 mp3 files, auditions or live recordings or definitive achievements, indicate which of the two tracks you want to compete with), texts and possible translations into Italian of the two pieces, curriculum artistic of the competitor (single or group). Among all the inscriptions the Artistic Commission established by the Foundation will select, anonymously, from eight to twelve finalists who will perform before a Technical Jury experts in the field.
The winner will have the opportunity to perform at the 2019 editions of the European jazz expo "in Sardinia, of Folkest in Friuli, of the Negro Festival of Pertosa (SA), of the Mei di Faenza, of the same Parodi Prize and in other events that will be hand announced. In addition to this, you will be entitled to a scholarship for your artistic growth for a maximum amount of 2,500 euros. The winner of the critics' prize will instead go to the professional realization of the videoclip of the piece in competition, at the expense of the Andrea Parodi Foundation, historical icon from the pop past with the Tazenda.
