UKYA City Takeover | 200 ARTISTS. 3 CONTINENTS. 150 EVENTS. 7 DAYS

UKYA City Takeover: Nottingham 2019 is a project that crosses the city, immersing visitors in a series of extraordinary, innovative and contemporary works by over 200 artists from three continents. Visual arts, performances, music and words will enliven cultural spaces and unusual places in the city of Nottingham. UKYA City Takeover: Nottingham 2019 promises to be provocative, exciting, inspiring and unique. Art that crosses borders, countries and nationalities; taking risks and opening minds.

Arci Lazio, as a member of BJCEM, in collaboration with Arci Nazionale has distributed the call for the selection of an artist in the following disciplines: call national visual arts, call Lazio Region "Moving Image".

UK Young Artists and BJCEM, with the support of Arci and Arci Lazio, are launching a tender to attend the "City Takeover" event, lasting one week, in the city of Nottingham. The competition is open to artists between the ages of 18 and 35. UKYA City Takeover is one of the main events dedicated to young artists in the UK, which pays great attention to multidisciplinarity. A project that creates spaces in which dancers will meet sculptors and photographers will collaborate with musicians; in which painters, playwrights, writers and artists will collaborate with poetic filmmakers during workshops, breakfasts or a late-night party. City Takeover is a unique place that allows artists to playfully overlay their experiences and their creative processes, leading to new experiments, without fear of taking risks. It promotes the emergence, promotion and ambition of young contemporary artists. The festival will activate exchanges and conversations between artists and the City, offering new knowledge and laying the foundations for future perspectives and collaborations. The selected artists are encouraged to participate in the entire festival, but if this is not possible, the artists will have to attend at least three days of the festival, indicating their availability in the application form. Round trips will be covered by the BJCEM members responsible for the territory. Please note that no compensation will be given to selected artists. A jury of curators and specialized artists will evaluate all the applications.

Participation is free.
