Once again Emperor Hadrian's villa is the main protagonist togeter with Villa d'Este of the summer activities for 2016. The second edition of the Tivoli Festival not only enriched the valuable collaboration with the Museums of Lazio, but marks the birth of a genuine common cultural project that starts from sharing the idea of ​​promoting and enjoying the cultural heritage.

Everything starts from a date, the five hundredth of the first print of the 'Orlando Furioso' by Ludovico Ariosto (22 April 1516) which was devoted the important exhibition "Ariosto's flights. The Orlando Furioso and arts ", inaugurated last June 14 in Villa d'Este by the Museums of Lazio. Hence the decision to inspire other events in the beautiful Renaissance home to the poem that was one of the first best-seller of the Italian and European literature.

The festival, started on July 22, and on August 20 will hosts "Chiara Caselli reading Ariosto". On August 27, there will be the concert event "War and Paladins." The reading of the Orlando Furioso by Mariano Rigillo and Anna Teresa Rossini will be accompanied by music performed by The Vertuosa Compagnia de 'Musici of Rome.

The audience, before reaching the show area, will have the chance to observe the Orlando Furioso painting by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres and Eugène Delacroix, in the original illustrations by Gustave Doré, in Jean-Honore Fragonard drawings, in the engravings of Antonio Tempesta, in the exceptional documentation of that extraordinary staging of the opera by Luca Ronconi.

The common theme of the concerts of Villa Adriana is fantasy. Some of the greatest masterpieces of music for the likes of Mozart, Rossini, Beethoven, Bernstein and Britten will be soon performed.

The shows will be held during the night openings of Villa d'Este and Villa Adriana. The audience will also have the opportunity to visit and discover these two sites - among UNESCO World Heritage List - in a whole new 'look' thanks to six evenings of music, poetry and art representing the opportunity for a unique experience in the name of beauty.
