SPRING ATTITUDE FESTIVAL
One swallow does not make a spring, but an electronic music festival – at least in Rome – does. «And let’s say it» they add «is there another place in the world where the energy of springtime is as beautiful and powerful as it is in Rome?».
Fresh, sunny and colourful: this is “Spring Attitude”. With more than 12000 attendees in 2015, it is now the main festival of electronic music in Rome. A name that gives the eye to the “Primavera Sound” held in Barcelona but that also looks to other European realities such as “Glastonbury” and “Sonar”, without forgetting the Italian inheritance of “Dissonanze”.
“Spring Attitude” was born from the union of two well-known realities in the Rome music scene: “L-ektrica”, an evening of alternative music from the indie world and dance that Andrea and Fabrizio Esu are involved in together with Claudia and Alessandro Gianvenuti; and the “Akab”, the historic club in Testaccio that Leonardo Scuderi, Rocco Lerose and Giovanni Capalbo belong to. A team that over the years has grown and now counts 20 people aged between 22 and 47. Some members of the group were initially clients at the “L-ektrica” evenings, others are professionals in the communication, design, music and photography worlds, some were even lawyers;
others come from the community centres and participation sphere.
All constantly working to organise the 3 days of the festival in May and also for the other events during the year, such as the “Outdoor festival”. Although the festival is held in different places each year, from Spazio Novecento to the old Caserma Guido Reni, the work group has recently acquired premises, a “headquarters” where the shared space allows them to discover artists, swap ideas, make decisions and plan, organising the various visions that each of them has. This is the philosophy behind Spring Attitude: broadening the horizons.
