Spazio Attivo Zagarolo | the new regional hub

Through the "Spazio Attivo" project, the Lazio Region intends to create a regional network of social innovation hubs consisting of large meeting spaces, open to people and territories, to collaboration with local authorities, businesses, industrial consortia, universities and research centers, where it will be possible to access all the services for companies, startups, training, orientation, personal empowerment and work.

The Region thus intends to rethink the territories of Lazio as places of social innovation, to experiment production models and to rationalize the supply of services in favor of the competitiveness of the economy. Each "Active Space" will be a connection point between the Lazio Region, local authorities and the territory, able to provide information and services to all the protagonists: companies, local authorities, citizens, innovative startups; to promote concentration, interconnection and better use by citizens and businesses of value-added services.

The Active Space of Zagarolo LOIC (Lazio Open Innovation Center) is the hub of innovation that addresses the sectors of the game, culture and tourism. An international center of excellence of approximately 2,000 square meters, whose goal is to attract skills and talents and foster the encounter between the entrepreneurial fabric and national and international players. Zagarolo is located a few kilometers from the center of Rome, and is connected by an efficient railway network and Ciampino airport. It is located in an area, that of the Monti Prenestini and the Castelli Romani, which represents a cultural and artistic excellence for the Lazio region. The Active Space of Zagarolo has the privilege of rising inside a unique location, that of Palazzo Rospigliosi, an extraordinary symbol of the changing times: from the millenary central core, to the centuries-old struggles between the Colonna and the Papacy, until it became a factory of parachutes during the Second World War. The Palace has not simply crossed the centuries, it has lived them marking time.
