Semi Volanti

The SemiVolanti group was born in Rome in 2004 by the joint work of Valerio Gatto Bonanni, Federica Fiorenza and Jacopo Mosca. Initially, the group is targeting the world of childhood by investigating strong and visionary issues, trying to bring children into more poetic and educational areas. Shows exploring the mysterious and naïve part of the human being: they run to our ability to dream, to marvel at the small things of nature and life; in front of fairy tales, stories, and colors in the world. Subsequently, SemiVolanti produces installations / performances in unusual places and urban performances; “psycho-magical” actions and interventions that bring the viewer closer to the intimacy and expressive essentiality of exceptional spaces to recreate human micro-cosmos made of poetic looks that explore and seek to understand and understand people.

Amongst the many projects is Black Reality, which becomes the Workshop of Social Theater of Regione Lazio. The mission is to turn the Black Reality project into a social theater network aimed at first and second generation migrants by combining similar projects that can keep up the theatrical provocation, the social denunciation of an explosive phenomenon and the artistic proposition in the relationship with the spectator and the theatrical criticism. Black Reality represents experiences and testimonies, the heroic and desperate enterprise of all those who are facing the journey to a civilized and democratic west, through the story of experiences of daily life of clashes and integration of those seeking new citizenship.

The main goal is also to create a viral network of theatrical laboratories: with a small number of Italian and migrant actors and the desire to meet local migration realities with which to undertake a theatrical integration work. The Association wants to bring its performances into festivals and theater performances, offering its artistic work as a contribution to the battle for civil rights and providing a job opportunity for the actors / migrants involved in the project.
