The Cultural Association Officine Incisorie organizes the 2nd edition of the International Ex Libris Competition inspired by the world of fairy tales. The deadline is December 27th.

The Exhibition Competition is open to all Italian and foreign artists: each artist must represent a fable of popular tradition of his choice. Particular value will be given to the artists who will choose fairy tales that are not known to the general public and that testify to the culture of their land.

These are the techniques accepted in the competition: etching, aquatint, drypoint, black, ceramolle, burin, woodcut, linoleumgrafia, lithography.

Experimental engraving techniques are allowed, provided that the presence of direct original engraving operations is preponderant. Works made with monotypical techniques are not allowed.

Each artist can participate with up to three works. For each participant work, 5 copies must be sent. The works must bear on the back: year of execution, technique used, name, surname and address of the artist, fairy tale of inspiration. The work must include the inscription: "Ex-Libris Officine Incisorie 2018" and the title of the fairy tale.

The jury will identify the 10 ex libris finalists who will be awarded with a limited edition calcographic print produced for the event and the exhibition catalog. The first place will win a personal exhibition of Engraving by Officine Incisorie on a date and place to be defined.

The works and the application form must be sent to the Associazione Culturale Officine Incisorie with a registered letter post, no later than midday on 27th January 2019 (date postmark).

A contribution of € 10.00 is required for participation in the competition; members of Officine Incisorie who are in good standing with the fee for the year 2018 and young artists up to the age of 25 are not required to pay this fee.
