SCUOLA ARTI ORNAMENTALI
The School of Ornamental Arts was established in 1885, placing itself as one of the oldest and most enduring art schools in Rome. Since then, the greatest Italian artists and decorators have passed through its rooms: from Boccioni to Severini, from Scipione to Mafai and Fazzini.
The homo faber has its headquarters in a beautiful building in Via San Giacomo. All the artists and artisans - professionals or at the beginning of their professional career - who want to face a path of growth and comparison, find here the right place to impose a trade and to specialize in a well-established expertise.
For each academic year, from September 1st to June 30th, every day of the week, the School offers basic and advanced courses for all the nuances and meanings of the arts: from weaving to painting; from the goldsmithery to the artistic glass windows; from painting to restoration, from fresco to ceramics; from the engraving to the mosaic; from the restoration of furniture, to life drawing.
For all courses there are basic and advanced levels with a minimum hours of 80 hours up to 250 hours for more specialized courses.
In the School the best and most skilled artisans and artists of the national and international scene have been formed and formed today, one of the flagships of the city of Rome and of the historical artisan shops typical of the most authentic and suggestive Rome, which is slowly disappearing, even though the sector is still capable of offering job opportunities to many young people.
