International Book Fair in Turin
The appointment with the International Book Fair in Turin is renewed every year in May in the four pavilions of Lingotto Fiere. A masterpiece of industrial architecture, the district of the famous Fiat factory with the helicoidal ramp and the rooftop track.
Designed between 1915 and 1922 and admired by Le Corbusier, since 1985 the complex has been transformed by Renzo Piano into an exhibition, congress and commercial center.
The Salone is a project of the Foundation for the Book, Music and Culture, created for the 2018 edition by the Circolo dei literati Foundation from the Fondazione per la Cultura Torino.
The general coordination is entrusted to the Director's Cabin chaired by Massimo Bray. Editorial Director from 1998 to 2016 was Ernesto Ferrero. From October 14th 2016 is Nicola Lagioia.
From the 100,000 declared passages and 553 exhibitors of the first edition in 1988, the Show has grown to 143.815 visitors and 1,200 exhibitors in 2017.
That of the Salone is a force based on four different identities in balance with each other. The Turin Fair is at the same time the largest Italian bookshop in the world, a prestigious cultural festival, an essential international reference point for professional book operators and an important educational project dedicated to the promotion of books and reading to young readers .
All elements that, from always, allow him to face with enthusiasm any challenge in the name of innovation and change.
