Roma Creative Contest 2018
The eighth edition of the Rome Creative Contest will be entitled "Renditi Corto", represented in the official poster created by the young Roman artist Manfredi Ciminale and will be developed on four dates between the Teatro Vittoria (September 15 and 19), the MAXXI - National Museum of arts of the 21st century (16 September) and the Auditorium Parco della Musica (22 September).
To preside over the jury of this new edition, which as every year will be made up of famous names and workers of Italian cinema, after Gabriele Mainetti returns another young director: Sydney Sibilia, one of the most beloved names of the moment that debuted at our Festival winning the Audience Award in the first edition. Together with him, to judge the many short films from all over the world: Sabina Guzzanti, Stefano Fresi, Ninni Bruschetta and Vittoria Puccini.
The Teatro Vittoria, located in the historic district of Testaccio, will host the projections of short films in competition and those out of competition: on 15 and 19 September, starting at 20:30, the public will have the opportunity to discover and above all express your opinion on the short films of the official selection that will compete in the 3 competitive sections: Best Italian Short, Best Short International, Best Short Animation.
For the Italian Courts section, production prizes will be awarded for a value of 50,000 euros. Among the technical prizes: Best Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Photography and Best Original Music. Two prestigious Awards: the Leone Film Group Award and the Audience Award enrich the palmarès of the awards awarded by the Festival. The three evenings at the Teatro Vittoria will be presented by the young Roman actor and screenwriter Francesco Marioni, who will be accompanied by a face known to the Italian public.
Sunday, September 16th will be held at the MAXXI - National Museum of the 21st Century Arts the Open Day of the Rome Creative Contest, a free day dedicated to creativity, cinema and talent. To kick off the day, after the success of the last editions, the Screenplay Contest, contest for writers who will give the chance to see the winner produced his screenplay thanks to the collaboration with some of the main production and post-production of the scene current.
In the afternoon, in the Carlo Scarpa Hall of MAXXI, will be held the third edition of Pitch in the Day, the only speed-date film where young authors and great producers meet in a real creative pit: the emerging authors will have the participants possibility to present one's cinematographic subject to the most important Italian productions.
During the Open Day the MAXXI Auditorium will host the presentation of Artithesi and new projects realized by the students introduced as usual by the teachers Luca Della Grotta, twice David di Donatello (Il Divo, La grande bellezza), and Claudio Di Biagio, director and youtuber. At the end of the event, on the 22nd of September the award ceremony of this eighth edition will be held for the first time in the Auditorium Parco della Musica.
