The Castle of Santa Severa opens again
The gates of the Castle of Santa Severa are opened again, an extraordinary jewel of culture, history and archeology erected by the Normans around the year one thousand and remained closed for over ten years until the extraordinary opening decided by the President of the Lazio Region, Nicola Zingaretti. Hostel, Innovation Lab and new museum displays among the novelties of this second phase of the Castle. The public can therefore visit the architectural complex and admire some of the archaeological remains that have come to light during the excavation campaigns to carry out the restoration work, as well as having the opportunity to stay in the receptive structure built on the first floor of the Castle. 14 rooms for 42 guests who can combine the cultural holiday with the opportunity to have fun and practice water sports such as surfing, an activity for which the beach of S. Severa is particularly known.
From this year it will be possible to visit the new museum areas and live an immersive experience thanks to the Innovation Lab, whose technological development has been entrusted to LAZIOcrea, with the contribution of Volkswagen Group Italia. This area, thanks to augmented reality and virtual reality, will allow visitors to attend a virtual tour accompanied by the narrative voice of Mario Tozzi, a well-known geologist and science divulger. Multitouch monitors and immersive video systems, even interactive, based on transparent films and / or glass will be available to visitors for a 360 ° immersive experience.
In addition, visitors can download a mobile app for IOS and Android, developed by LAZIOcrea, with virtual reality and augmented reality, which will offer all the information you want. Another important novelty concerns the congress activities and other services, the spaces intended for this kind of events, the use of which will be governed by a regulation and a rate card; the dedicated spaces will be a part of the first floor of the building called "Manica Lunga" and the rooms on the first floor of the building called "Manica Corta". It is also possible to host conferences, conferences, debates, courses, seminars, video-projections, shows, cultural events, exhibitions and temporary exhibitions; events, banquets and receptions such as celebrations of religious and civil marriages; photographic and television, cinematographic or other types of audiovisual services. The target? Making the Castle one of the main attractions for the tourist, cultural and enogastronomic offer of the region and the country.
Finally, the Castle of Santa Severa is part of the monuments covered by the Valorisation Program and the 'Art Bonus' Campaign, which aims to enhance the historical and artistic heritage of the Lazio Region through donations that will enjoy a 65% tax credit , to be divided into 3 annual installments of the same amount.
