Rome Art Week [RAW] consolidates its annual artistic initiative, aiming to provide a new impetus to the production and market of contemporary capital art - involving for a week the entire city of Rome through the promotion of events and artistic projects organized by exhibition structures, artists and curators operating in the city.
RAW aims to unite the world of contemporary art of the capital and to provide a comprehensive overview of national and international audiences: the goal is to align with other European capitals, where Art Week or Art Gallery Weekend, giving birth to a demonstration - a useful tool for knowledge, depth and market impetus and art communication - capable of revitalizing the artistic, cultural and tourist ferment of Rome.
Artists will open the doors of their studios to show their research and, in some cases, engage them in creative work; groups of artists, critics and curators will present to the public their avant-garde cultural projects in unusual exhibition spaces. The website will provide you with the necessary information on the initiative: Weekly appointments and meetings, guided tours organized by Rome Art Week following the selections made by "Punti di vista" - art critics and specialists in the industry involved with RAW, providing a critical guide to participants and events organized during the week - all online through the event calendar and the interactive map of the places to visit.
The paper copies of the programs will be available at the members of Rome Art Week. Another novelty for this year is the printing of the catalog including all the RAW2017 structures, a directory spread across the territory and valid until the fall of 2018, not related to the period of the event, but functional to provide a summary of the "state of made "of active sector operators in the city of Rome.
Rome Art Week and an artistic initiative promoted by KOU - Nonprofit Association for the Promotion of Visual Arts. For this second edition, RAW reconfirms the patronage of the Municipality of Rome, the Lazio Region, the International Union of Institutes of Archeology History and Art History in Rome and the CIU - Confederation of Union of Intellectual Professions; to these are added the La Sapienza University and the MiBACT - Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, demonstrating the artistic and cultural importance of the event for the city of Rome.
