PLURAL+ 2018 Youth
Part of the competition for short videos on immigration, diversity and social inclusion. United Nations Alliance of Civilizations - Unaoc and International Organization for Migration (OIM) launch the Call for PLURAL + 2018 Youth Video Festival and invite young people from all over the world to send original and creative short videos, reflecting their opinions on immigration issues , diversity and social inclusion.
Young people up to a maximum of 25 years of age can participate in the competition, they can participate individually or in groups. Minimum involvement of adults, such as educators, teachers etc. can be admitted. with a role of coordination or support, especially with regard to the category of younger participants. The competition will be divided into three categories based on age, up to 12 years; from 13 to 17 and from 18 to 25 years, videos must have a maximum duration of 5 minutes, including credits and credits. Videos that are not in English will need to be subtitled. Videos made after January 2016 are allowed.
A prestigious international jury will select three winners of the PLURAL + International Jury Award for each age category in competition. A video will also be selected for the awarding of the PLURAL + Special Award for the Prevention of Xenophobia. The winners will be invited to New York - with all travel expenses paid - to present their work at the awards ceremony, which will be held in November 2018.
The PLURAL + partner organizations will also award other awards and professional opportunities to over 20 of the best videos submitted.
All prize winners will be invited to present their work in video and film festivals, conferences and events around the world. The Festival also intends to provide a platform for the international distribution of videos made by young people on these issues.
Participation in the competition is free. Videos must be sent thtough the appropriate entry form by 3 June 2018.
