The Officine Nove Cultural Association was born out of necessity to create a space of free expression. Expression in the broadest sense of the term, with no boundaries whatsoever, with the aim of bringing together art with music, theater with photography, to bring together those who still believe that experimentation has the power to move consciences that maybe in the last few years they doze a bit too much.
The members of the association, mostly artists, set designers, stage technicians, therefore open the location to new creative talents and consolidated masters in order to implement meetings, carry out projects, compare ideas.
An open space: open to the artist's project who is simply looking for his exhibition space. Open to those who want to observe the artistic object, but also to those who want to know other languages and are looking for technical support for their project.
Officine Nove is also an interior design studio, set design and costume design, stagecraft and painting that puts its decades of experience at the service of the territory, professionals working in the sector and working in different areas of entertainment and art, opening the doors to children and adults for courses of different nature inherent to the creative sphere, bringing together professionals of different kinds.
Officine Nove is located inside the Borghetto Galvani in the Pietralata area, close to the Studios movie theaters. A small community of artists now settled in this bubble. Its location, barely visible to passers-by, allows it to be a happy island in a very commercial neighborhood with few places for cultural gathering.
For over ten years it has been the seat of an eclectic laboratory, in which the scenography never ends in itself, was imagined and created as if it were an artistic installation, in which sculpture, construction and painting mingled.
Today one of the objectives is to make all this experience known to others, continuing in the scenography work, but giving the space a guise, not only purely of the laboratory, but of a more "chosen" place where actions take place and where they establish small and short courses of knowledge of the specific scenographic subject, of painting, sculpture of the arts in general and of their artisan way of being born. In the last few years more than 50 artistic, musical and performative events have taken place and it is becoming more and more an important reality for Roman street art.
