Migranti Film Festival
Part of the three days of the Migranti Film Festival, an organized festival of the Università di Scienze Gastronomiche, will be held from June 10 to June 12, 2017 in Pollenzo - Bra (CN), the university headquarters, dedicated to issues related to migration, Generations, conviviality, identity and multiculturalism.
Migrant Film Festival wants to be a promoter of a new participatory communication method that allows the insertion of "other" memories into the collective heritage of national and transnational memory, while at the same time letting go of ongoing migration processes involving groups of authors , Researchers, directors, migrants and not, committed.
One of the goals of the Migranti Film Festival is to represent the diversity and subjective experience within the migration. There will then be presentations in the discussions after the projections of migrant-directors, with their looks between narrative and self-narrative, in order to create a platform for confrontation, support and action.
The videos produced by the participants in the Bando will be an instrument of interpretation of reality. The purpose of participating video is to produce social change or individual transformation.
In addition to the films, there will be roundtable discussions with scholars, artists, professionals, students from all over the world and migrants who will explore the issues raised by the films and bring social instances and reflections on society from unprecedented views.
Migranti Film Festival wants to be a free event that has the theme for 2017 that of the "universal value of coexistence", organized by the students of the University of Gastronomic Sciences, which through stories of travel, people, hopes, comparisons between migrants of Yesterday and today, dramas and stories of success, wants to raise public awareness of the real scope of the current migratory phenomenon and to show reality from a different perspective.
During the event, six feature films will be screened, along with eight short films and other non-competing films: with large spaces for films, concerts and the opportunity to learn about the gastronomy of migrant communities. In addition, it will be possible to attend workshops and meetings with literate and scientists.
