MEDIA ART FESTIVAL
Media Art Festival, the initiative promoted by Fondazione Mondo Digitale to explore new frontiers of culture and art, now in its third edition focuses on Path Toward Human Sustainability, devoted to a key challenge of the XXI century. Digital, artificial intelligence and genetics are the sectors that are experiencing the most rapid and complex changes, by transforming deeply the way we produce and consume, even at cultural level. A multi-event formula, which, in addition to the exhibition, alongside workshops with artists-activists, like the American Joseph Delappe, for the first time in Italy, paths for schools of all levels.
Since many weeks, in fact, the young Italian artists are working with students to the realization of unpublished works of art to be exhibited in three days at Maxxi: a real widespread production workshop to encourage new generations to active, innovative and creative use of technology. The event brings in the capital city artists and guests of global significance and fits into the "international festival system”, such as Arctic Biennale of Stavanger and Spectra Aberdeen’s Festival of Light, supported by the Europa Creativa Program.
A single laboratory project that involved in the creation of works of art at the “Innovation Gym” international artists of the project European Light Expression Network - ENLIGHT thanks to the contribution of the European Commission “Europa Creativa” program, the Residences of artists activated with Goethe-Institut and the artistic-educational project Carbon Footprint through digital art, done with the support of the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Physics Department of La Sapienza University of Rome.
