You can easily imagine the three future creators and programmers of the “Ultras War of Districts” videogame. I can see them in their youngsters’ rooms surrounded by scarves, flags, tee-shirts and posters of the football teams they are fans and tinkering with joypads to control more and more lifelike virtual versions of the idols they see on the green fields on tv and pc screens. A common destiny for the latest generations.

Exactly combining their passions for video games and football, viewing the sport as hooligans do, the three unite in the startup PMP Interactive, at the threshold of their thirties. After four years of work, they create their video game, coming soon for Android and Ios in 109 nations and 13 languages. It is a strategy video game - a category growing fast in the last years thanks to smartphones and graphic stylization - that depicts.

supporters’ dynamics, appealing to the sense of belonging to football teams that marks a great part of the world’s population. The player selects a supporter group and so became the boss of a neighbourhood that can be expanded by erecting functional buildings and that will start a struggle for dominance with the bordering areas managed by users from all over the world. The graphics recalls the punk, iconic and anarchist violence of Street Fighter and The Warriors but irony won over violence and often feuds between neighbourhoods end in staining walls or stealing banners.

“Hold your colours high” is sung in many stadiums. Now even in virtual reality characters and behaviours.

The story has been written by Simone Ungaro, writer.
