Magellanea, a journey into the world of illustration
The most beautiful phrase I remember in my life told a child when she was talking about a drawing: "What is a design? It's an idea with a line around. " It's beautiful, this is all my life.
In one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, and the center of a creative never banal, a festival promoted by the Municipality was created and realized with the contribution of the Regional Council of Lazio. The initiative is curated by Arci Viterbo who has been organizing, for years, Librimmaginari.
Three days of workshops, exhibitions and permanent works. The collective exhibition Circumnavigazioni will be the center around which the festival will be held. Like many creative satellites, there are wonderful children's workshops on illustration and poetry, as well as reading and live drawing.
Circumnavigation because "Calcata is an island," writes the curators Marco Trulli and Marcella Brancaforte - an atoll scattered in a rugged landscape crossed by rivers and wild forests. An area of imagination to circumnavigate and tell by imagery, populating this site of a plot of adventurous, intimate or epic tales. "
At the end of these intense days, rich in fantasy and fun, a murals will also be made by an illustrator selected through a public announcement promoted by the Municipal Administration.
Among the artists present are Paolo Bazzani, Marcella Brancaforte, Daniele Catalli, Cristiana Cerretti, Camilla Falsini, Sonia Giambrone, Massimo Jatosti, Giulia Orecchia, Rita Petruccioli, Alex Raso, Giovanna Ranaldi, Simone Rea, Resle Tale, Alfonso Prota, Marco Smacchia, Francesca Zoboli.
