M.A.C.A. - Museum of Contemporary Art of the Academy is the first example of integration between museums and institutes, which has become an example of all the Italian academies that open museums, integrating more and more with the place where they are located. The academy becomes a pulsating place for students and citizens, a cultural center.

The academy is located in a huge Risorgimento school building overlooking an entire hill in Frosinone. Palazzo Tiravanti is impressive and bright and the regular spaces make you want to interrupt the regularity with creative ideas. Thus the imagination can free itself and on two of the very long corridors an art gallery has been set up with almost 80 works.

The works interrupt the regularity with provocative shapes and colors. They have all been donated by artists who have collaborated or had relationships with the Academy in its over 43 years of activity. It will be the light of the valley that is reflected in the white walls of the institute, it will be the historical position or perhaps only the true spirit of art, but since they moved to this building, the academy is as if it had integrated with the city. The Open Days represent a crucial moment of the year, more than Open Days are now a real Festival of Academies.

The palace is the setting for a fashion show, exhibitions and concerts. In the evening, then, the façade becomes a large screen for a Mapping installation, the art of playing with lights, creating suggestions and images accompanied by sounds. And this is also a sign of openness to an entire territory where art has played a fundamental role in the past and can still play a lot to attract tourism, especially youth. The experience of stays where ancient art is a frame for current creativity has a special charm and the academy of Frosinone already has active collaborations with many other academies in the world.
