Twenty years old, from Venice, he lives, studies and works in the Italian capital. He trained as a dancer, then as a performer, at the Centro Elaborazione Danza school run by Laura Sgaragli, at the EventiDanza circuit run by Gisella Zilembo, in the artistic residencies of Premio MAB and at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome.
So young, and yet he has already collaborated with successful artists, including Andrea Morucchio and Lukas Bures. And in the spring of this year he is beginning to attend the course for the international diploma of performing arts and dance at the University of Oulu, Finland.
Luca Camuffo is constantly searching for new artistic projects to experiment the use of the body in unconventional spaces and situations.
When he was 13 he saw a show at the Malibran Theatre in Venice. There, in nuce, Eukrómya was born. Because of his interest in experimenting and his «desire to knock down the socio-cultural walls of our times», this project demands a space where new codes are possible. Luca knows that he will not manage to express what he wants using other people’s codes. The collision between his studies and bodypainting is the prompt for something new, both artistically and emotionally. Thus a research project began that, bringing together pure movement media, modes and location, gave the possibility to experiment, to «lose oneself to find oneself».
Luca is obsessed with fathoming himself in search of a primary, authorial language, «configured to be understood by the audience».
The union is now between dance and colour, but this combination is just the beginning of a new possibility, the first piece.
Exploration of a language in all its possible combinations, for him, is only at the start.
The story has been written by Gabriele Di Fronzo, writer.
Everything around you changes and everything around you stays the same. For Luca Camuffo what counts is movement, that is the focus.
