Oboe, flute, clarinet, saxophone, brass: wind instruments whose sound timbre depends on the shape and on the material. Because the perfection of the sound comes with the perfection of the instrument. In the heart of Norma town, in Latina province, “Lo Strumento” handles with the sound. A little craft studio, born from the passion for music of Master Francesco Stella, where it is possible to repair, restore and renew all wind instruments.
During the years, Francesco Stella has become familiar with the mechanical characteristics of hardwood (like ebony), metallic alloys and of the processing techniques for the construction of the instruments.
For this reason, “Lo Strumento” represents a place, a shelter for every wind instrument musician of Lazio where they can change pads, springs, replace corks, can do lacquer, silvering, satin finishing and engraving.
In 2013, this studio hosted the restoration of one of the two samples in the world of Flute made in Claude Laurent Crystal of 1841 that belongs to the collection of the National Museum of Musical Instruments in Rome.
“Lo Strumento” has a special consideration for conservatory students who want to change their instruments. At the studio, in fact, they can get the “Stradivari bonus” with discounts and special offers.
