The agreement between the Free Authors and Publishers Association (LEA) and the Italian Music Industry Federation (FIMI) has been successfully closed, bringing together and representing the major producers and distributors of the recording industry including Warner, Sony and Universal .
The framework agreement establishes the terms and conditions to which any record producer registered with FIMI may proceed to reproduce works belonging to the LEA catalog on phonomeccanic supports (LPs, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, etc.).
Guido Scorza, President of the Board of Directors of LEA, declares: "The agreement just signed with FIMI, also thanks to the precious support of Nctm Studio Legale, is the best confirmation that the free market of copyright brokering is not a utopia but a real opportunity for honest rights owners and users to respect authors, publishers and music in general - the hope is that news like this will soon be no more news because it has become normal".
FIMI and its members are among the first major users to have finalized a framework agreement with LEA, which for Italy represents the Soundreef rights. The Association in the coming weeks, will sign the contracts with the major television broadcasters and with the major national radio networks.
