Laboratorio di restauro Iachini
A restoration workshop that is also cabinet-making and violin-making workshop. The workshop was named after Antonio Iachini who, together with his son Giulio, is the owner of the restoration and conservation of artworks company. The workshop works for authorities, museums, public and ecclesiastical bodies, universities, academies and private collectors.
Powered by a strong passion for ancient art, the studio today has more than 30 years of experience. In the 200 square meters studio, located in TuscaniaA restoration workshop that is also cabinet-making and violin-making workshop, in the heart of the Etruscan area, the artworks are studied with non-invasive diagnostic tools. Only after this operation, the restoration plan is elaborated.
This allows to operate safely and with good quality results. Furniture, frames, paintings, panel paintings, ecclesiastical items are processed in full compliance with the work originality. A specialized laboratory is the cabinet in which there are facilities and a wide selection of vintage and aged woods, suitable for any kind of intervention on polychrome, gilded or inlaid.
Since 2010, the laboratory also houses the violin making. The handmade excellence can be seen in the design and construction of classical and totally original electric guitars. The key issue is the attention to detail: ebony fingerboard and rosewood, body quilted maple, mahogany and walnut, as well as boxwood, which acoustically has the same yield ebony.
Since 1992 Iachini is the art director of a cultural association which organizes a specialization courses for cabinet-makers and restorers where he personally takes care of teaching and training schedules. In addition, among other activities, the laboratories of Iachini are affiliated with the University of Tuscia, Faculty of Cultural Heritage, for internships and professional training of students.
