Television, theatre and cinema scenery. Born as a family-run business, La Tecnica, since 1990, has realised several scenes for theatres and shows of a great value, which required an important commitment in the different fields of scenery: design, carpentry, decorative painting and construction of scenery.
The company is located in Albano Laziale, and it is able to propose sumptuous kinds of scenery, both for modern and contemporary prose theatre, classic or modern dance, as the ones required by classic dance and by opera. Of course, it is also able to build more simple sceneries suitable for prose theatre. Specifically, La Tecnica realises hand painted backdrop, wooden structure, mobile stages and platforms, decorative sculpture made of polystyrene and furniture.
The workshop is the company flagship: is the place where the sceneries are invented and created by the hands of a team made up of carpenters, painters and especially artists, who create real and big works able to enrich any kind of theatrical or television show.
Houses’ façades, balcony where the actors can access, platforms and bridges: carpentry department is the one involved in almost every creation. Most of the structures are made of plywood by the decoration department who shapes the structure demanded by the show.
The decorators also deal with structure made of polystyrene or other material and of the creation of hand painted backdrop, which decorate the stage.
The most famous scenographers, including Dante Ferretti, addressed to La Tecnica. He commissioned to La Tecnica the construction of façades of New York’s buildings dating back to 1800, placed across Cinecittà streets, for “Gangs of New York”. It was a real masterpiece of stagecraft who made the company very proud.
