The Lazio Region supports cinema and audiovisual
The list of beneficiaries for 2018 of the annual cinema fund was approved, with which the Lazio Region supports the production of Italian, European and foreign cinematographic and audiovisual works, realized in whole or in part on the regional territory and recognized as a cultural product with the granting of grants.
344 works including films, fiction, documentaries, shorts and web series, works for children and beginners, research and experimentation, cross-media and animation. The purpose of the fund? Making Lazio a privileged site for activities, workforce, location, post-production, studies, for all production companies. Among the works that benefit from the regional fund, 11 films nominated for the 62nd edition of the David di Donatello Awards: Ammore and Malavita, Nico, Brutti and Bad, Pure Hearts, Easy, Sons of the Night, Sicilian Ghost Story, A Private Question, Fortunata , Hurray Giuseppe, Crazy & Beautiful.
In total the nominations, involving directors, actors, screenwriters, set designers, photographers, editors, make-up artists, hairdressers, sound engineers and musicians were 44.
"Over the last few years the Region has invested about 102 million euro in support of the cinema and audiovisual sector, and the funding has rewarded actions in favor of production, exhibitions and cinematographic structures - words of the president, Nicola Zingaretti, who added: an important tool for our policies has been the annual regional fund with which we have supported more than 1,300 works to date, plus the last 344. Also this year the selection of the candidacies of the Davids illuminates our efforts: well 44 nominations belong to 11 films that the Region supports with the fund ".
