In view of "Ritratti di poesia" - a classical manifestation of the not-only Roman cultural scene, scheduled for February 9th in Rome, thanks to the support of the Fondazione Terzo Pilastro - Italy and the Mediterranean in the person of Prof. Emmanuele F.M. Emanuele, who created it - returns the competition "Ritratti di Poesia, 140", which in its previous editions has been remarkably successful.

The contest, free participation, wants to be a meeting point between poetry and the immediate and synthetic social expressive language, in particular the mode of communication required by Twitter. To join the competition, you can send an unpublished poetic text of up to 140 characters (including spaces) to the e-mail address ritratti.140@libero.it

For the fifth edition, in addition to the section of Italian texts (first section), the section dedicated to the citizens of other European countries (second section) is expected to send the texts in their language accompanying them with the English translation .

The "poems in a tweet" can be sent from 10 October to 20 December 2017 and will be selected by a jury composed of poets Franco Buffoni, Carmen Gallo and Maddalena Lotter. The winner of each of the two sections will receive a cash prize of Euro 250. All texts will be published on the Twitter page ritrattidipoesia.140 together with news on the result of the competition.
