The orange economy
"L'economia arancione" ("The Orange Economy", ndt) is the title of the volume recently published by Gian Paolo Manzella, Regional Councilor dedicated to the theme of Creative Economy. The book, released with the seventh edition of the annual "Io sono Cultura" ("I am Culture", ndt) and presented by Symbola and Unioncamere at MIBACT, reveals important data on the economic geography of the sector in Lazio.
For example, the province of Rome, with 10%, confirms the first place among the Italian provinces as a result of the added value of the cultural and creative economy. It is also in second place - after Milan - for employment levels, accounting for 8.7% of the total. The data are even more positive at regional level, since Lazio is the leader in the creative economy with respect to the regional total and also the number of employees compared to the total number of regional workers.
And yet, in our region, the cultural and creative sector generates € 14.8 billion in added value, employs 204 thousand people and counts 41,000 businesses. The Orange economy of Lazio is strong and growing more and more. In line with what the most dynamic European regions are doing, the regional government of President Zingaretti has been pointing to this area for years with the Lazio Creativo program.
Gian Paolo Manzella's adventure in the world of creativity began in 2007, with a collaboration with the ministerial commission on creativity and production of culture and the White Paper, which completed its work. Since then he has continued his activity on the field with the Roma Provincia Creativa program - promoted by the Province of Rome - and then with Lazio Creativo, an initiative launched in 2013 by the Lazio Region in support of creativity.
