Keramikos 2016, the art of pottery
Keramikos, the biennial of contemporary ceramic art in Viterbo, is about to start.
Keramikos 2016 is a tribute to Luciano Marziano who died last March, and was a student of Argan, emblematic figure of the artistic world of ceramics and valuable contributor to several editions of this initiative.
The exhibition will be held in Palazzo degli Alessandri, in the beautiful medieval quarter of San Pellegrino and will remain open until November 13, with free admission.
A magical place that will host the works of the invited artists, with the presence of the master Nino Caruso, one of the most famous sculptors ceramicists in the world.
Nino Caruso, Luccioli Massimo, Massimo Melloni, Mirna Manni, Tonina Cecchetti, Attilio Quintili, Eraldo Chiucchiù, Simone Negri, Elettra Cipriani, Oriano Zampieri, Tiziana Rivoni, Mara Van Wess, Carla Francucci, Christian Vignatelli Bruni, Sabine Pagliarulo, Rita Miranda, Giorgio Crisafi, Antonio Grieco, Annalisa Guerri, Alfonso Talotta, Evandro Gabrieli. These are the protagonists of the exhibition, all internationally renowned artists who have exhibited their works in exceptional locations.
Since its inception in 2007 to date, the biennial has always demonstrated great artistic expressiveness, unpublished and original languages and a different view on ceramics, used as a work for its own sake, which is part of the contemporary art scene, witnessing the vitality of an ancient tradition.
A contribution which requires consideration of the ceramic production beyond the stereotype of a handicraft production, but elevates it into the unquestionable value of art in the Italian art scene.
The exhibition has been curated by Mirna Manni, Massimo Melloni and Massimo Luccioli, with the support of the Cultural Association Magazzini della Lupa, Artidec, Società Tarquinense d'Arte e Storia, with the support of the Province and the City of Viterbo.
