Promotion by means of social networks has become vital for all professional and commercial activities that seek to increase the number of customers and engage them, creating customer loyalty. Innovandia, a startup founded in Rome in 2016, has designed an original communication device called “Promo Counter”, a ceramic design object that is dynamic, interactive and CE marked, always connected to the Internet. An object that derives from the original idea of a “space frog” called MIKA. The display, made up of two scrolling LED lines, represents MIKA’s open mouth as he communicates new promotions, with the aim of incentivising sales, and turning customers into fans: the first line is dedicated to social interactions (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, people counters, visits to the store), while the second line is set aside for “thanks” for interactions and for information on promotions (discounts, special offers, news), weather conditions and other widgets. To receive the data to be displayed, “Promo Counter” only needs to be connected to the Internet, while interaction with Apps and customers happens via a Bluetooth sensor (iBeacon) and QR Code. Innovandia is planning a “Promo Counter” version made from plexiglass and in different colours. And using the fantastic image of MIKA, the startup is considering using this object to target children and youngsters, and to sell it to customers in a bundle, with an illustrated book. As Ivan D’Ettorre tells us, the story might start as follows: “This adventure began on a planet that we still know nothing about, light years away from us. […] It was there that a small space frog lived, spending his tedious days perched on a water lily leaf”.
The story has been writtern by Simona Pandolfi, writer.
