20Chiavi: theatre can be brought everywhere and there are no inaccessible places. You only need to have the right key – or keys – to open the doors. This project has been developed in the Viterbo province and aims, first of all, at involving the youngest audience, that will be tomorrow’s audience, by cooperating with schools of every level and degree. A further objective of the project is that of bringing theatre performances in work places, while hosting both famous and emerging artists. The bond linking life and work, arts and craft is a constant: our job inevitably influences our life, exactly as economy has changed its social and anthropological aspects.
That’s how the Festival delle Storie di Lavoro (Work Stories Festival) originated: it is indeed organized by the association and traditionally brings labour on the stage in its complexity and thoroughness, even focusing on sectors which are too often forgotten such as agriculture, craftsmanship or self-employment, with a particular reference to job safety. But this is not the only problem. Indeed, we often spend the whole day in the same room, yet communication is always difficult. In this regard, theatre is extremely helpful, overcoming such barrier through teamwork, group work, cooperation and debates is another mission of 20Chiavi Theatre. Bringing down walls separating colleagues and co-workers while performing on the stage (and, even more, behind the curtains and during rehearsals) will teach you that you’re never alone.
