Palazzo degli Esami in Rome hosts, until July 30th, the exhibition Imperdibile Marilyn, which shows a Marilyn Monroe ever seen, revealing unprecedented aspects and facets. The exhibition, which collects more than 300 objects of the movie star, is made possible thanks to the loans of various international collectors who have always been intimately seduced by the figure of the actress. A veritable tale that is based on tangible elements of real life and allows the visitor to better know the story of the Hollywood diva, perhaps the most famous in the world.
Thus we discover the intimate power of a woman who has been able to go against the tide; delicate and very determined at the same time. The exhibit reveals step by step the instinct of a real manager. A Marilyn not to be missed, the one that goes beyond myth and survives as a very current figure. A woman that we would define perfectly emancipated today. You can admire the most popular and fascinating objects: clothes, accessories, cosmetics, symbols of her lifestyle, as well as the famous white dress by Travilla, the stars designer, created for the movie The Seven Year Itch. The exhibit is also a plunge into the vintage world, now backlit with topicality.
"To host real life of Marilyn," explains Fabio Di Gioia, "it also means retrieving the history and golden years of international filmmaking whose soul was undoubtedly Hollywood. A historical re-reading even more truthful as seen through one of the most controversial and beloved figures among all the stars. To know that Marilyn, her truth and myth, will live in a large palace in the heart of Rome, is an imperishable opportunity for emotion and knowledge."
The exhibition has been organized with the support of the Cultural Growth Council of Rome.
