Il Ricamo Prenestino
The ancient and precious art of embroidery requires time, patience and passion: these are the basic ingredients that Ricamo Prenestino uses; the cultural association was founded in 2005 on the slopes of Mount Ginestro, in Palestrina. Founder and president is Chiapparelli Stella, born right in the ancient Praeneste, where a careful dedication distinguishes her eclectic products: detailed works of embroidery even on canvas, as well as the renowned Palestrina Point, “born” here and still very appreciated abroad.
Embroidery Prenestino aims at raising the awareness of the art of embroidery and activities useful to keep alive the folk traditions of Palestrina. Stella is known and appreciated in the industry, so that the monthly important magazines dedicated several services to her art; her cooperation with various institutes and embroidery schools is often required. Her embroideries are based mostly on traditional subjects and the Renaissance-era designs handed down over time, in order to encourage new generations of embroiderers. All the works, in fact, represent real pages of history written on linen with coloured threads.
The elegance and perfection of execution create valuable and refined works of art, able to enchant lovers of refinement. On the association's official blog, in addition, you’ll be updated on current embroidery and painting courses held by Stella Chiapparelli, as well as on publications about the ancient art of embroidery.
