The future behind Google
Fighting terrorism? Boycotting money laundering, organized crime and traffic of human beings? Just click. No, it is not a commercial; it is what Google is building for future users. Google Ideas was born with the aim of investigating the potential and future of the Internet connection with the exploration and navigation technology developments, according to the billions people who would be connected in the future. A majestic and ambitious idea that today turns into Jigsaw. From the US headquarter, President Eric Schmidt announces the expansion of Google Ideas Board into this new role with the aim of assessing and addressing geopolitical challenges, online censorship and digital attacks.
In five years, the company that developed the world most used search engine formed a team of technicians, engineers, product managers and researchers whose leader is Jared Cohen, previously at the head of Google Ideas, will then become President of Jigsaw, while continuing his consultancy for Alphabet (Google related corporation). In these years the Cohen team has already developed some tools that can protect access to information. Among them Project Shield, based on a structure that prevents cyber-attacks; or uProxy, developed to take advantage of a free and open internet; last but not least Password Alert, to protect users from phishing. The future first comes from Google.
