From February 27 to April 24, 2016 the rooms of the Museo di Roma in Trastevere will host an exhibition dedicated to the Italian cartoon. Prompted by Roma Capitale - Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali, the exhibition presents about three hundred original tables of some of the most famous and loved graphic novels in the history of the Italian cartoon.
Through the original tables collected in fifty years of cartoon history, the exhibition traces the most significant streaks of Italian striped novels, starting with " Una Ballata del Mare Salato", Hugo Pratt's masterpiece, to "The Extraordinary Adventures of Pentothal" of an equally extraordinary Andrea Pazienza.
There will also an exhibit of the original tables of "Fuochi" by Lorenzo Mattotti, "Max Fridman" by Vittorio Giardino, "Cinquemila chilometri al secondo" by Manuele Fior and "Forget my name" by Zerocalcare. The curators of the exhibition are Paolo Barcucci and Silvano Mezzavilla, with the scientific advice of Daniele Barbieri, Sergio Brancato, Stefano Cristante, Enrico Fornaroli, Pier Luigi Gaspa, Guilio Giorello and Luca Raffaelli.
The catalog of the exhibition, edited by SKira, collects the first five pages of each graphic novel; The featured artists are Hugo Pratt, Altan, Carlo Ambrosini, Ausonia, Dino Battaglia, Paolo Bacilieri, Roberto Baldazzini, Sara Colaone, Marco Corona, Elfo, Luca Enoch, Guido Crepax, Manuele Fior, Otto Gabos, Massimo Giacon, Gabriella Giandelli, Vittorio Giardino, Francesca Ghermandi, Gipi, Igort, Piero Macola, Magnus, Milo Manara, Lorenzo Mattotti, Attilio Micheluzzi, Marino Neri, Leo Ortolani, Giuseppe Palumbo, Andrea Pazienza, Tuono Pettinato, Sergio Ponchione, Davide Reviati, Filippo Scozzari, Davide Toffolo, Sergio Toppi, Pia Valentinis, Sebastiano Vilella, Vanna Vinci, Fabio Visintin, Zerocalcare.
