Hackathon at Let’s Play
Hackathon has just started now - March 16th – and it’s dedicated to the issue of training and education entitled "Game of Profs" at the stand of the Lazio Region at Let's Play, the Video Game Festival, hosted at the former barracks of Guido Reni in Rome from 15th to 19th March 2017. The Hackaton is organized by Regione Lazio in collaboration with Codemotion and AIV, the Italian Academy of Video Game. Participants must design a game that would allow teachers to keep up and be able to integrate, use and interact with technology in teaching. The game will be made by following the Edutainment approach (educating through entertainment).
The development will be divided into two phases. In the first one, participants will devise storytelling of the game; the second phase will be dedicated to the making of the prototype and participants will be able to decide which technology platform use for it. Yesterday March 15th, at the stand of Regione Lazio, there was a hackathon dedicated to the theme of development of the area, entitled "Borghémon GO". The hackathon asked participants to create a video game that allows the discovery and fostering of a Lazio village.
The 2 hackathons last about 12 hours, each one involving 30 participants divided into 5 teams, which at the appointed time of the competition have to build a prototype for the gaming entertainment. For each of the two days there will be only one winning team, receiving a prize of 1000 euros value in Amazon vouchers for a total of 2000 euros.
