GIOVANNI CLEMENTE WHITE
Between 2013 and 2014, Veronica, Giovanni and Giuseppe ended their professional experience in a great wedding gown company. The economic recession brought out a powerful reaction, bringing them to make big changes: with the aid of their nostalgia for white fabrics, they founded Giovanni Clemente White in September 2015. The brand conveys a very precise message: wedding ceremonies sector does not necessarily have to be a traditional one, made of white dresses that are always the same. «When we design, when we sew, we have haute couture and nothing else in our heads; that is why we talk of haute couture in white. We know what our brides want: not the traditional dress but a particular, exclusive, fashionable garment, to make them feel unique, different from millions of brides following one another since the dawn of time».
Dresses designed by Giovanni Clemente are handmade by dressmakers with decades of experience in haute couture, using fabrics made in Italy that always make a very high quality final result. While awaiting the second collection, planned for May 2017 – in what is surely to be a fundamental year for their progress – there is time to think about the future: «for our company, the most important goal is the creation of a tailor’s shop, a laboratory, a “slow factory” where to work in harmony, with love and dedication for fabrics and clothes. It is a way to further raise our standards, but also to protect
a talent that is increasingly far-removed from new generations. To do this, we would like – in a day not too far in the future – to found an academy that can work in synergy with the Maison». Giovanni Clemente White‘s work is a courageous one. Thanks to him and that of other talented young fashion designers, haute couture in Rome still has a lot to say.
