After winning a Lazio Regional Administration call for the creation of cultural and creative enterprises and after setting up the actual company in November 2015, Gilda Ciccone and her collaborators have moved on to their next project: “Indiefilmchannel.tv”. An online video on demand platform through which it is possible to watch artistic productions from the Italian and international world of independent cinema. What is the purpose?
First of all to fight piracy, promoting online legality and raising network users awareness of supporting professionals in the sector; moreover, giving a chance to creative artists who don’t manage to get their films shown in cinemas and slowly create followers that can appreciate them; lastly, allowing those areas that normally would never be reached by certain, less commercial and almost always superior in quality films, to be able to enjoy a type of cinema that is based on other standards, a different cinema, that is only apparently anonymous.
«Anyone who would normally be excluded from large –scale distribution» says Ciccone, «in this way find a valid alternative to overcome the difficulties of being known and distributed by the players, so contributing to the circulation of valuable works not just between insiders but potentially anywhere». Territorial extensiveness, therefore, with speed and democracy of diffusion; freedom of choice and sharing: these are the key words of Gilda Ciccone’s project, that has already enjoyed important victories, such as the Premio Foggia Film Festival awarded to the
film “I toni dell’amore” (The Hues of Love), distributed from the start by Indiechannel.tv.
The story has been written by Angela Bubba, writer.
A project born from the love for cinema of Gilda Ciccone, of Roberta Galastri from Rome, and Paola Testa, from Naples.
