Premio Equilibrio, set up and organized by the Fondazione Musica per Roma, is aimed at young emerging choreographers under the age of 36, trying to highlight new projects designed to become dance performances. The award aims to promote and support artistic creation in dance, promoting the work of emerging artists and the realization of original projects.
Roger Salas, as consultant and artistic director of the Equilibrium Festival, will select the proposals by identifying the finalists, who in turn will have the opportunity to present their first work on Saturday 11 and Sunday, 12 November 2017 in front of the audience of ' Auditorium and an international jury composed of choreographers, playwrights, critics and industry experts.
The winner will receive a € 10,000.00 contribution for the production of the show, which will be presented in final form at the Auditorium during the Seasons of the Arts; They will see the main dance of a series of appointments not only during the Festival Equilibrium but throughout the Foundation's programming. Also this year there will be an absolute novelty, the winner will have the opportunity to have international visibility through the Equilibrium Award 2017 to Career, annual recognition that the Fondazione Musica per Roma will assign to a figure universally recognized for its contribution to contemporary dance, Both in choreography and in the formation of new generations of dance artists.
The list of finalists will be made public by Friday 29 September 2017 on the Internet site.
