Cassano Laerzio and Alessandro Inno work in Ostia on the Edopera project, winner of the Fondo Creatività under 35 competition. Edopera deals with speed and transport as well as luxury and design. In the language of business, its mission is to develop creative customization in the naval, industrial, transportation and aeronautics fields through engineering and craftsmanship. A yacht, a motorcycle, a car: all the parts a customer might require – both functional and accessories – are transformed into lighter and more elegant carbon. Edopera is innovative because it allows the customer to interact with the object on its website and have their say about the selected model, working on it by removing, adding, colouring and altering.

Edopera was founded by two naval architects, the first, Laerzio a former intern in the practice of the other, Inno, who is now the coordinator for the projects in development. “Given the slump in the shipbuilding industry”, says Laerzio, “we decided to aim at the luxury market, which is never affected by the problem, reasoning that anyone who owns a car or a yacht would rather improve what he or she already has rather than buy something new”. The Fondo Creatività Under 35 provided Edopera with the resources to purchase the computers for the three-dimensional maths and the expensive machinery to work the carbon.

Edopera's goal is to become an independent workshop which can use carbon, for example, to build the bridge of a 63-foot yacht, or provide spare parts for a Porsche which is no longer in production, without the need to rely on external companies. The ambition of the two architects is to work with the big luxury car and boat brands, like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Azimut and Princess, and the market for Edopera's projects is currently focused on northern Europe, Russia, Germany and Poland.
