Dorothy Circus Gallery
Founded in 2007, the Dorothy Circus Gallery is a space dedicated to Pop Surrealist art and new trends in figurative arts.
For the first time on the Italian contemporary art scene, DCG has brought the likes of Joe Sorren, Ron English, Sas & Colin Christian, Camille Rose Garcia, Alex Gross, Tara McPherson, James Jean, Miss Van, Kazuki Takamatsu and many others.
Since 2011 the headquarters has moved to the historic center of Rome, maintaining that style "on the border between New York and the country of wonders". The Art Bookshop is truly remarkable, with its walls all covered in white velvet, dedicated to all the monographs on the exhibited artists, made unique by the selection of limited edition prints and the rarer Art Toys by the author, while recreating in the hall "Red Hall" exhibition, a setting reminiscent of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.
Dorothy Circus Gallery, elected by the American magazine Juxtapoz as one of the 100 most important galleries in the world, has become the reference center of Pop Surrealism in Europe.
Once inside, one has the sensation of having made a dimensional space jump: on the border between the dark red atmospheres of the films of David Lynch and the iconic and pictorial ones of Tim Burton. The gallery is also dedicated to the publication of catalogs on its exhibitions, distributed all over the world.
The Dorothy Circus Gallery also publishes art books, monographs on artists, catalogs, but also limited edition prints, and collectables, such as the exclusive Eau de Parfum inspired by the works of Ray Caesar and created in collaboration with master perfumer Lorenzo Dante Iron.
