"Dominio Pubblico - The City for Under-25s" is a multidisciplinary project aimed at investigating the creativity of a new generation of artists under 25, active in different artistic fields (theater, dance, performance, short films, music, visual arts, street art, comics). The ultimate purpose of this call is to create a festival to be held in Rome. The India Theater will once again be the main location of the Sixth Edition of the multidisciplinary Festival "Public Domain - The City for Under-25s", from 10 to 16 June 2019.
The Festival aims to be the most significant Italian event focused on creativity under 25. Each year, over the course of the programming week, more than 100 young artists from all over Italy will be hosted in the Theater of India and selected by the Under 25 Artistic Director: more of 50 events including shows-exhibitions-projections-special events-workshops and concerts.
Public Domain is also a promotional action (recognized by MIBAC) for the training of active spectators: in fact, the selection of the artists hosted at the festival will be completed in complete autonomy by a group of 50 active spectators, also under 25, who then they will engage in the general organization and in the communication of the festival itself. In the course of 5 years of activity, the Public Domain project has trained several generations of Under 25 spectators, some of them have continued to be active in the field of cultural events creation. Today, at the beginning of 2018, the project can count on a community of over 500 boys trained through the path of Active Spectators
Dominio Pubblico was founded in 2013 by the meeting of the artistic directions of Teatro Argot Studio and Teatro dell'Orologio, which urged the playwright and director Luca Ricci to develop a cultural project together with them. Thus was born the idea of an action aimed at the most complex, but also most stimulating, of potential spectators of the theater, that of young people ranging from 16 to 25 years, that is true young people, in a country that continues to consider young people aged 40.
In 2015, Domino Pubblico was recognized by the MIBACT as one of the 15 deserving financing realities in the Public Promotion / Training chapter. Also in 2015, the Teatro di Roma - Teatro Nazionale, under the direction of Antonio Calbi, becomes the main partner of the project, hosting the activities within its spaces.
Today, Dominio Pubblico is an example of artistic and management co-working that was established in 2018 in a new association under the artistic direction and the presidency of Tiziano Panici. Founding members are Fabio Morgan as vice president and general manager and Luca Ricci as the creator of the project Spectators Active Under 25 and administrator.
The Festival avails itself of the collaboration with different companies and realities to spread the announcement and support the project in the many artistic fields in which it is interested.
