No Limits documentaries
A date with a high level of creativity scheduled for 2016. We are talking about the MakeDox International Creative Documentary Film Festival, an event created in 2010 at Skopje, in Macedonia, with the intention of sharing and promoting innovative documentaries. In just a few years, the event has become eagerly awaited in the sector, and has won over videomakers worldwide, arriving at over eighty screenings every edition. Now the event also includes exhibitions, debates, workshops, masterclasses and concerts.
Videomakers without barriers
Remaining faithful to the original idea – namely, to create an inspiring environment to swap experiences and know-how on how to plan, produce and promote a film – the competition sets no limits. Any kind of theme may be tackled using any technological and fiction style, and all documentaries already produced and released are eligible for the competition (any public screenings must have taken place after 1 January 2014, however).
The sections of the Festival
The festival is divided into three sections: the Onion Program includes medium to long duration productions. The Young Onion Program groups together all the youngest creatives, those who are producing a documentary for the first or second time. Lastly, Dox for Kids and Youth is the section open to all those who have produced films to do with infants or the young, or have these in mind as an audience. But what can I win? Only works of art. Apart from anything else, Goethe already told us, “art makes things immortal”, so what better prize?
