Città di Fondazione 2.0
"Città di Fondazione 2.0 - Artistic reinterpretation of 80 years of history" is a project promoted by the Magnolia Social Promotion Association, realized with the contribution of the Lazio Region - Regional Law n. 27 of 20 November 2001.
The Foundation Cities of the Lazio Region are: Latina, Sabaudia, Pontinia, Aprilia, Pomezia, Colleferro and Guidonia, all urban centers born in the thirties of the twentieth century and united by features such as: having been designed according to the most up-to-date urban planning theories epoch and being the expression of the architectural experiments of the early twentieth century.
The law n. 27, recognizes the importance of these centers and promotes interventions for the enhancement and knowledge of their historical and architectural heritage.
The project "Città di Fondazione 2.0" is aimed at artists, with particular regard to emerging young artists and will take place in Pomezia (RM) on 25, 26, 27 July 2018 at the La Sughereta Multifunctional Center, at the Selva dei Pini.
Five seminars on different aspects of the history, culture and art of the founding cities will inspire the 15 artists selected through public notice that at the end of the project they will see their works exhibited in museums and art galleries throughout the Lazio Region .
Participation in the competition is free and open to artists of all ages and nationalities, with five artistic sections: painting, sculpture, photography, audiovisual, digital art.
The prizes include: free participation in a traveling exhibition on the founding cities in the museums of Latina, Pomezia, Sabaudia and Colleferro and at the Galleria Moderni in Rome; the printing of the exhibition catalog and DVD with the promotion of the profile of each participating artist.
Participating artists will be offered the opportunity to take part in a summer school on the art, culture and history of the founding cities, which will take place in Pomezia (RM) from 25 to 27 July at the La Sughereta Multifunctional Center.
A scholarship is foreseen for young people under 35 which includes food and accommodation cover in Pomezia during the summer school. Participants will receive a certificate of participation with the possibility of obtaining extracurricular training credits for those attending high school.
